BROCKTON----Isabelle R. (Muir) Whitney, 91, of Brockton, formerly of East Providence and Falmouth, died Saturday, February 11, 2011 at Braemoor Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Wallace William Whitney.
Born in Providence, RI. on November 28, 1920, a daughter of the late
James and Ruth (Thresher) Muir, she was raised in East Providence
and was a graduate of East Providence High School.
Isabelle was employed as a cafeteria worker at East Providence High
School in Rhode Island. A resident of East Providence for more than
40 years, she later moved to Falmouth where she resided for 20 years.
Isabelle lived in Sun City, FL. after moving from Falmouth and taught
line dancing for a number of years. She later moved back to Brockton
and was a resident of Heights Crossing. She was a member of the
Queen Esther's, a womens group with the methodist church.
She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Taylor of Brockton and
Patricia Morrissey of Garden City, NY.; six grandchildren, Kerrie Winers
of Brockton, David Morrissey of Coram, NY., Gail Lamneck of Delray
Beach, FL., Rose Morrissey of Port Jefferson, NY, and Colleen Morrissey
of Roslyn, NY.; she was the sister of the late James Muir and Robert Muir
and grandmother of the late Keith Taylor.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral in
Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street
(Rte.138) Easton, on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be
held on Wednesday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to the
service. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. For
