EASTON—-Thomas J. Murray, Sr., 85, of Wind Gap, PA., formerly of Easton, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Beverley (Kinney-Erbeck) Murray and the companion of Maryann Rissmiller of Wind Gap, PA.

Born in Brockton, a son of the late James R. and Berenice (Richardson) Murray, he was raised in West Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bristol County Agricultural High School. A veteran of the Korean War he served in the US Army as a corporal.

Upon honorable discharge he continued his studies at Wentworth Institute where he earned a bachelors degree. Thomas began his working career in the construction industry and was first employed by Batson Construction of Brockton and later with Bennett Construction and then Campanelli Construction.

After, Thomas owned and operated T.J. Murray Concrete Forms for 10 years. HeAA then became the proprietor of T.J. Murray Company of Easton, a trucking business which he operated for 24 years.

A resident of Easton for 58 years he lived in Wind Gap, PA for the past 9 years. He enjoyed yard work, snowmobiling and spending summers at his home in Sebago, Maine.

In addition to his companion, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Murray and his wife Lina of Easton and Scott Murray of Easton; a sister, Florence Davio; three grandchildren, Keith, Scott Jr., and Paul; and two great grandchildren, Hunter and Colton. He was also the brother of the late Helen Lorraine and Carol Murray.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Interment with military honors will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. For directions or condolences visit
