Patriotic Emblem

EASTON----Roy B. Swanson, 79, a lifelong resident of Easton, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Metrowest Medical Center after a period of failing health.

Born in Easton, a son of the late Albin A. and Esther May (Lincoln) Swanson, he was raised in Easton and attended Oliver Ames High School. A veteran of the US Army he served as a PFC during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged.

A longtime member of the Foxboro Fish & Game Association, he loved playing cards, shuffleboard and searching for arrow heads. He enjoyed repairing small engine and prepping ribs, "Chef Roy".

He was a custodian for the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 238 of Easton.

Roy is survived by his siblings, Janice Swanson of Easton, Arvid A. Swanson of Brockton, Barbara P. Jacquel of Norton, Sharon Burroughs of Easton and Don A. Swanson of Norwood; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in the Knights of Columbus, 375 Foundry Street (Rte.106) Easton.
