Heart Emblem

Robert P. Mielde Jr, "Bob", 60 of Easton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 6, 2021. He was the loving husband of Lori A. (Cain) Mielde.

A lifelong resident of Easton, Bob was born in Brockton, MA on April 9, 1960 to Patricia E. (Pendergrace) and the late Robert P. Mielde.

After graduating from Oliver Ames High School, Bob enjoyed a year working at the Sigma Corporation with his father and uncle. Bob, who by now had become known to his peers simply as "Moose", went on to continue his education at Framingham State College where he met many great friends, prior to his graduation in 1983 as Class Vice President.

Bob had a lengthy career in procurement and manufacturing operations at numerous companies including Datel, Keithley-MetraByte, Astrodyne, and Laser Performance before ending his career at Industrial Defender. Throughout his career Bob had a strong entrepreneurial spirit, working with several startups and small companies helping drive them to growth and success.

An avid motorsports enthusiast, Bob could often be found at local racetracks throughout New England and beyond such as the late Norwood Arena, Seekonk Speedway and the Star Speedway. It was a father-son family tradition that he began with his grandfather at a young age, which he kept up throughout his life and passed on to his sons. Even on business trips, he would make it a point to find a local Saturday night race wherever he was, be it California, Washington, Texas or Florida.

Bob also had a strong passion for music and especially enjoyed rock from the 70's and 80's, outlaw country, and bluegrass music. One of his favorite pastimes was attending concerts with his wife Lori and their many friends. Other activities that Bob enjoyed in his spare time were fishing, snowmobiling, and traveling with family and friends. He cared deeply for his friends, family, and longtime neighbors, all of whom had been garnished with iconic nicknames. He will be missed by many.

Bob is survived by his wife Lori and his mother Patricia. He also leaves three cherished children: Kayla Berg and her husband Brendan of Norton, MA; Harrison Mielde of Providence, RI; and Jameson Mielde of North Kingstown, RI. He was the loving grandfather of two grandchildren: Emmalin and Abigail. He also leaves aunts, uncles, cousins, and his many nephews and nieces.

At his request, all arrangements will be private.
