EASTON - - - Robert E. "Bob" Emery, 88, a resident of Easton for the past 50 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center. He was the husband of the late Barbara (Riddell) Emery .

Born in Brockton , a son of the late Clarence and Helen (Seyfert) Emery, he was a graduate of Brockton High School. A veteran of the US Navy, he served as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class during peacetime and was honorably discharged.

Robert began his working career at the Boston Shipyard. He then was self employed as a salesman until retirement.

He enjoyed acting both on stage and in the movies and participated in The Judge, Celtic Pride and numerous Eastern Utility's Documentaries. An avid tennis player with family and friends he also was invited often to the Tennis Club of Easton. Bob frequented the Evangelical Church of Easton and the Holy Cross Church .

Robert is survived by four children, the late Susan Maloney of Brockton, Barbara J. Emery of Peabody, William A. Emery and his wife Karen of Easton, Brenda J. Smith of Easton ; eight grandchildren Lisa, Kevin, Shannon, Shawn, Brian, Julia, Catherine, Jason and Kayla. Nine great grand children. He was also the brother of the late Alfred Emery and the late Richard Emery.

The family will have a private graveside service with military honors on May 1st at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne
