EASTON——Robert A. Farrand, 79, a resident of Easton for the past 40 years, died Friday morning at Good Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by family. He was the husband of Marguerite (Wise) Farrand for 54 years.
Born in Boston, a son of the late Harold C. and Gladys (Keller) Farrand, he was raised and educated in Braintree.  A veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the US Air Force and loved his country.
After a career working for Child World, followed by 15 years as a custodian at North Quincy High School, Robert retired.

A community activist who was a longtime member of the Easton Lions Club, receiving the Melvin Jones Award, a member of the American Legion Post 7 of Easton,
who served as their chaplain. Robert volunteered at the VA Medical Center in Brockton, as well as the Easton Food Pantry along side his wife.
Robert enjoyed nature and being outdoors. Some of his pastime included reading, gardening and birdwatching, and traveling to Sanibel Island, FL and Ogunquit, ME. A devoted and adoring father and grandfather who cherished his family.
In addition to his wife Marguerite, he is survived by three daughters, Lori Hauthaway of Abington, Sue Kaupp of Easton and Sharon Southworth of Raynham; a brother, Richard Farrand of Quincy; and seven grandchildren, Aimee, Allison, Benjamin, Ashley, Taylor, Morgan, and Bayleigh.  He was also the brother of the late Wallace Farrand and Larry Farrand.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to Kane's Funeral Home in Easton for Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m.
