BRIDGEWATER----Richard Ellery Tranmer, 65, a lifelong resident of Bridgewater, died peacefully Friday, July 13, 2018 at the VA Brockton Healthcare System with his family at his side.

Born in Brockton, a son of the late Richard E. and Doris E. (Ryan) Tranmer, he was raised in Bridgewater and was a graduate of Bridgewater Raynham High School.

A veteran of the Vietnam war, he was proud of his service in the US Navy and was honorably discharged.

Richard was employed as a security officer in his working career. A guitarist who enjoyed music, he would play at various clubs. Halloween was a favorite holiday and he enjoyed working at Spooky World.

Richard is survived by a brother, James F. Tranmer of Columbus, GA., and a sister Karen E. (Tranmer) Desreuisseau and her husband Robert of Bridgewater; many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was also the brother of the late Sarah M. (Tranmer) Preti of Florida.
