EASTON-----Phyllis M. (Brown) Howard, 100, a resident of Easton for the past 65 years, passed away peacefully, December 2, 2018 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brocktton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert D. Howard.

Born in Mansfield, a daughter of the late Frederick and Elsie (Crockett) Brown, she was raised in Mansfield and Franklin and was a graduate of Franklin High School Class of 1935.

Phyllis began her career as a bookkeeper for Franklin Lumber. Later, she became the bookkeeper for JO Dean Grain Mill of Easton.

An active member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she enjoyed sewing. A devout Christian, she enjoyed priceless memories spent with her family,

Phyllis is survived by her children, John R. "Skip" Howard of Easton, Margaret R. Horne and her husband Clifford of Easton and Doreen M. Norrman and her husband John of Easton; four grandchildren, Joshua Norrman of Easton, Nicholas Norrman of Boston, Kellie Horne of Easton and Taylor Horne of Woonsocket, RI.; she was also the sister of the late Frederic Brown and Phillip Brown.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery, donations in Phyllis' memory may be sent to the New England Center and Home for Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA. 02108.
