EASTON——Phyllis M. (Swanberg) Anderson, 94, of Easton, formerly of Brockton and Danielson, CT., died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of the late Frederick R. Anderson.

Born in Brockton, a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Lindbom) Swanberg, she was raised in Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School and attended the Gethsemane Lutheran Church of Brockton.

Phyllis was employed as a cafeteria worker at Cardinal Cushing Hospital in Brockton and later for Stonehill College in Easton.

A member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Easton, she was a member of the Lutheran Church Women serving as Past President

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother she cherished the company of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and admired watching them grow.

Her hobbies included crocheting and walking and traveling to the beach where she found peacefulness in the serenity and beauty of the ocean.

Phyllis is survived by her children, Dianne Stanton of Pembroke, Karlton Anderson and his wife Karen of Palmer, Lee Anderson and his wife Sara of Easton, Elaine Sears of Easton, Paul Anderson of Yarmouthport, and Rev. Lisa Anderson of Danielson, CT.; 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Charles Swanberg Jr.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. The funeral will be held on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. 143 Lincoln Street, Easton. Interment will be on Monday at Jan. 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. In lieu of flowers donations in Phyllis' memory may be sent to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 143 Lincoln Street, Easton, MA. 02356 or to St. John Lutheran Church of Killingly 190 Wauregan Road, Danielson, CT. 06239.
