Heart Emblem

RAYNHAM----Passed into heaven on May 6, 2017 after a brief illness. Born in Brockton MA on St. Patrick's Day 1937, she was appropriately named Patricia "Pat". Pat or "Trisha" as she was known to family was the beloved daughter of Leonard and Mabel Bolinder. Pat was a very devoted daughter and told her family all her life she "missed her parents". It brings us comfort to know she has been reunited with them. Pat was extremely proud of her Swedish roots.

Pat is survived by her husband Francis Joseph "Joe" DeCosta of Raynham. Pat & Joe would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 15th, 2017.

Pat also leaves her 5 cherished children…. Joy (Jon) Hanscom of Thonotosassa, FL, Brenda (Lou) Silva, of Easton, Debra (Peter MacLEAN) Nichols, of North Dighton, Lori (Gary) Nepini, of Norton and Paul DeCosta of MA. . Pat also had a very special person in her life for the past several years, Nanci Hedgcorth, lovingly referred to as her "adopted daughter".

Pat was one of eleven children and is survived by her beloved sister Marjorie Piesco of East Bridgewater. She was predeceased by her siblings Norman Bolinder, Ralph Bolinder, Robert Bolinder, Doris Dalton, Eileen Nilsson, Phyllis Hitchcock, Arthur Bolinder, Stanley Bolinder, and Russell Bolinder. Aunt Tricia was the adored aunt of many of her nieces and nephews.

Pat loved children. For many years she ran an "in home" daycare in Easton. Through the years she lovingly cared for and raised her 10 grandchildren. Holly Geribo, Justin Hanscom, Christopher Silva, Erica Falcetta, Kate Silva, Sarah Silva, Ashley Nichols, Spencer Nichols, Alyssa Ferrara, and Brandi Tino.

Pat also is survived by 5 great grandchildren, Kayla & Kassandra Geribo, Bruno III & Mia Ferrara, and Mila Falcetta.

In recent years Pat & Joe spent a considerable amount of time in East Falmouth, MA and Winchester, New Hampshire and enjoyed visiting with family, the ocean or lake, and shopping and eating out. Pat loved to shop and was always buying presents for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Pat was a very generous person. She believed in helping those who needed help. For her children and grand-children she would have done anything necessary to support their goals & dreams.

Pat was an extremely talented person. She sewed, crocheted, and knit. Over the course of her life she made thousands of handmade sweaters, afghans, and custom hats, scarves and other delights. Her family and friends will cherish these beautiful gifts forever. Whenever a "baby" was about to enter the world, Pat would create a beautiful blanket or sweater set. She was so talented she often did not have to read a pattern. She could look at something and create the pattern. In recent years, she has made hundreds of hat and mitten sets and donated them to local homeless organizations. She was selfless.

Pat was also a great baker. Over the years her family enjoyed many of her special treats. Apple pies, whoopee pies, and monkey bread were requested favorites at family events.

Over the years, Pat was fortunate to have many, many friends. People just loved her. She cared about people and always had a listening ear for their troubles. It has been a difficult few months as her friends have rallied around to support her and her family at this difficult time.

Pat's spirit will live with her family and friends all their lives. She will bring sunshine to a rainy day and strength to see us all through life's challenges. We will miss her every single day with all our hearts.

We will look for you everywhere. In a rainbow… a quiet bird…. a wondering deer…. or a beautiful flower. We will look for you at the ocean and lake, in a thunderstorm, or the troubled times. Until we meet again…….

We would like to thank Compassionate Care Hospice of Taunton, MA for their kindness, compassion, and care. They stepped in when we needed them most, took care of even the smallest details, and supported our family when we needed it most. Thank you, Mia, Susan, Ashley, and Anita.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday from 4-7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton.
