EASTON----Patricia Elaine (Cortell) Miller, 82, a resident of Easton for over 20 years, went home to the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Life Care Center in Raynham after an extended period of failing health.

Born in Rochester, NH., the daughter of the late Ben and Lillian (Nesbit) Cortell, she was raised in Haverhill MA, and was a graduate of Haverhill High School and then attended Boston University School of Nursing.

Patricia was a resident of Easton, MA for 20 years before moving to Cumberland, Rhode Island where she resided for 28 years before having to move back to the Easton area in recent years. She was employed in the retail clothing industry as a sales representative for Jaeger International of Chestnut Hill and Copley Plaza of Boston. She was later employed as a representative for Chico's Clothing.

She was best known for her wonderful sense of humor, especially about herself, and even in the face of illness, right to the end she could laugh. Her sense of style and class was surpassed by none, well known for never being without lipstick and matching hand bags and shoes. She had a strong will and outgoing personality, but could show great kindness and affection to those she loved. She was a modern woman for her time, teaching her 2 daughters how to be strong and independent women on their own. She also taught her son how to take care of himself in all areas of his life, as well. Her strong devotion to her friends showed in the last years of her life as her 4 closest friends remained devoted to her right to the end.

Patricia is survived by her children: Lori Miller-Freitas and her husband Richard Freitas-(she considered a son) of Easton, Wendy Miller of New Bedford, and Eric Miller and his wife Jennie Miller-(she considered a daughter) of Crestview, FL.; her remaining sister, Judith Simonson of Noxon, MT; ; and three grandchildren, Sean Pinkos of TX., Shaena Reale of Berkley, MA, Bonnie Freitas of Worcester, MA. Also, she had a great granddaughter Lily Jaymes Reale. Her step grandchildren; Jesse Brace and Angela Knapp and step great grandchildren Gracie and Blue Sky Knapp. She was the sister of the late Saundra White

A special note needs to be made of her 4 remaining, extremely loving and devoted friends: Joyce Ciffollilo who she knew for 54 years, meeting in Easton and though both moved away remained friends, always. Carol Norato, Gail Macari and Jan Thibault all from Rhode Island. They met at Chicos years ago where she worked and though it was a great distance for them to travel to see her during her illness, they came and remained truly devoted. A testimony not only to these fine women but to Patricia as well for cultivating such loyalty and love.

A Memorial service will be held in the Spring of 2020. In lieu of flowers donations in Patricia's memory may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oak Road, Waltham, MA. 02452
