She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Joseph Finn in 1972, her sister Jean Marie Peters in 2014, and her sister-in law Mary Ann Finn in 2013.

Mary Ruth was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 17, 1923 to William and Regina Standley. She grew up in the "Motor City" and loved cars. She was a recreational golfer, swimmer, tennis player and an avid reader. She spent many summers camping with family on Lake Ontario. She graduated from Wayne State University with a degree in Social Work and worked in Social Services. Marriage and family brought her from Detroit to Boston to Philadelphia. She worked hard in her garden cultivating beautiful trees, peonies, and camellias. Growing up she was the flower arranger in their home. She had a soft place in her heart for animals and was a strong woman of great faith.

Always known for her positive outlook, beautiful smile and luminous blue eyes she volunteered for many years at Saint Matthias Parochial School and the Bryn Mawr Hospital.

Relatives and friends are invited for visitation at the Kane Funeral Home at 605 Washington St., Easton, MA on Friday January 19th between 4 and 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd, PA followed by the internment at Calvary Cemetery in Conshohocken, PA.

If you please, in lieu of flowers, a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Mary Ruth Finn would be lovely.
