Heart Emblem

EASTON----Mary Jane Wood, 75, a resident of Easton for over 50 years, passed away on Wednesday, May 30th, 2018. She was the graduate of the Brockton High School class of 1960. A devoted wife of Kenneth F. Wood, with whom she celebrated her 55th anniversary earlier in the month, she was a kind-hearted woman who dedicated her life to her family, friends and community.

She was the daughter of the late Dorothy and Edward Callahan. She is survived by her two brothers, EJ and Michael Callahan, her children, John Wood, Peter Wood, Linda Martin, Kathy Tempestoso and Christine Preciado and her eight grandchildren (who knew her as 'Nana'), Anthony and Ashley Martin, Sofia and Anna Tempestoso, Haley and Jake Wood, Jillian Wood and AJ Preciado.

In 1978 she co-founded the Easton Food Pantry with her husband to fulfill a much needed service for the local community. She always volunteered whenever needed. She was a Girl Scout leader for her daughters' troops and often volunteered for church events, including assisting at Masses as a Eucharistic minister. She was very involved as Past Regent of the Daughters of Isabella and enjoyed many moments with her Red Hat ladies and her Sunday coffee get-togethers with her many friends. She also shared her musical talents in the church choir and in the Immaculate Conception Broadway revue shows.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 3rd from 4pm to 8pm at Kane Funeral Home, 605 Washington Street in Easton. The Funeral Mass will be on Monday, June 4th at 10:00 am at the Immaculate Conception Church at 193 Main Street in North Easton. Burial will follow at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in support of the Easton Food Pantry, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA 02356.
