Heart Emblem

EASTON------Mary Francis (Parrott) Lovely, a resident of Easton since 1968, died peacefully on March 27, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) A. Lovely, Jr. She is survived by her son, William (Will) A. Lovely, III, his wife, Melodie, and their daughter, Katherine Elizabeth, of Lexington, MA; and her daughter Mary E. Lovely, her husband, Michael L. Bonczek, and their three sons, Ronan W.P. Lovely, Brian P. Bonczek, and Andrew L. Bonczek, of Westford, MA. Mary Francis graduated with honors from Arlington High School in 1956 and later received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Journalism from Northeastern University in 1961. Throughout college, Mary Francis was active in theatre and campus events. She also helped establish and later served as vice president of one of Northeastern's first Sororities. Upon completing her degree and teaching credentials, she became an English teacher at Lynnfield High School, MA, where she found creative ways of reaching and inspiring young people to appreciate literature, poetry, and theatre by drawing comparisons to modern day society and social issues. In Easton, she remained active in her community, working for several years as Director of the Natural Resources Trust's annual "Harvest Fair." She served as a stalwart member of the "Education First" movement in the late 1970's. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Brownie Mom, and faithful Catechist. She also served as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Cross Catholic Church in South Easton, where she was a loyal parishioner for many years. Mary will be remembered for her affable personality, stewardship, warm smile, and unwavering Christian Faith. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 Federal and State emergency, a private graveside service will be held at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Taunton, MA. A memorial Mass celebrating Mary's life will be held at a later date and time (to be announced) at Holy Cross Church in South Easton, MA. In place of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
