BUZZARDS BAY——-Mary E. (Blackadar) Crowell, 92, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Randolph, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of the late William A. Crowell.

Born in Boston, a daughter of the late Percy W. and Elizabeth M. (Doherty) Blackadar, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of St. Gregory High School in Dorchester.

A resident of Randolph for 53 years she moved to Buzzards Bay 21 years ago.

Mary began her working career with Mason-Neilan Company of Dorchester as a bookkeeper. She left the company to raise her family and later went back to work as a payroll specialist with Cumberland Farms.

A communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Buzzards Bay, she was active with the Bourne Council on Aging. Her hobbies included reading, crossword puzzles bingo and playing cards.

Her greatest enjoyment was her devotion and time spent with her family.

Mary is survived by a son, Kenneth P. Crowell and his wife Joan of West Bridgewater; a sister, Dorothy Blackadar of North Andover; three grandchildren, Michael P. Crowell and his wife Diane of Wilmington, Stacey L. Paretchan and her husband Matthew of Lakeville, and Brian M. Crowell and Jeanine Bresett of West Bridgewater; three great grandchildren, Madison, Zachary and Liam; also survived by nieces and nephews. She was also the mother of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Crowell and sister of the late Eleanor Thomas, Edward Blackadar and William Blackadar.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Friday at 8:30 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral Mass in St. Margaret's Church, Buzzards Bay, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:00 p.m. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. For directions or condolences visit
