Heart Emblem

STOUGHTON——Mary C. (Raymond) Hannon, 90, a lifelong resident of Stoughton, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Norwood Hospital after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Matthew C. "Sonny" Hannon.

Born in Stoughton, a daughter of the late Anthony and Theresa (DePaul) Raymond, she was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School. She continued her educa-tion at Wilfred Academy in Boston earning a certificate in hairdressing and cosmetology.

Mary began her working career as a hairstylist for Fraser's of Brockton. She later worked at Carl's of Brockton and Kay's Beauty Salon of Stoughton. Mary later changed careers and worked as a telemarketer for Spoontiques of Stoughton for 27 years, a job she truly enjoyed. She was life member of the Daughters of Italy in Stoughton.

Throughout her life, Mary expressed her creative and artistic talents not only as a hairstylist, but in her many interests and hobbies. She had beautiful penmanship, and expressed her artistic talents in crafts such as flower arranging, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, and fabric painting. An avid recipe collector, she was also an excellent cook who enjoyed trying new recipes and mak-ing Italian dishes for family and friends. She loved Christmas and other holidays where she would delight her family and friends with special cookies, like her famous "pizzelles". Her "tried and true" recipe collection and love of creative arts are a legacy her daughters treasure.

Mary was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her humble and nurturing nature and sweet smile will be missed by family, friends, former coworkers and caregivers

Mary is survived by two daughters, Ellin Smith and her husband William of Braintree and Jane Faghan and her husband Michael of West Bridgewater; a granddaughter, Ashley Faghan of West Bridgewater; two sisters, Virginia Pimental of Falmouth and Dorothy Raymond of Newton Center and several cousins. She was sister of the late Joseph E. Raymond.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018 from 3-7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton.
