Marilyn Jane (McDougall) Azevedo, 93, of Brockton, Massachusetts, formerly of Easton MA, passed away on February 15, 2017 with her loving family supporting her.

Marilyn was born in Brockton, MA on February 23, 1923. She graduated from Oliver Ames High School, North Easton, MA and joined the Navy during WWII. She attended Naval Training Schools in New York and Georgia, achieving the rank of Specialist Third Class (Temp). Marilyn received her Honorable Discharge on December 7, 1945.

A strong and independent woman, she raised 3 children on her own while working a full time job and, until only a few weeks ago, she maintained her own residence. She enjoyed bingo, riding her bicycle, doing crossword puzzles in ink and spending time with her family.

Marilyn is survived by her children James M Azevedo and his wife Wanda, Linda E Carlson and her husband Dennis and Thomas E Azevedo and his wife Kelley., five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and other family and friends.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours at Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Route 138), Easton, on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 4-7 pm followed by a funeral service at 7 pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater, MA at a later date. For directions or condolences visit www.kanefuneralhome.com
