Portsmouth, RI——-Kathleen L. (Loan) McGarry, 66, of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, formerly of Stoughton and Norton, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of Christopher J. McGarry for 43 years.

Born in New Bedford, a daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret (O'Neill) Loan, she was raised in Stoughton and was a graduate of Stoughton High School.

Kathleen was employed as an office clerk and began her working career with Mr. Peanut of Randolph. Later, she took a position with Easton Concrete Cutting where she was employed for several years.

A resident of Norton prior to moving to Portsmouth, RI., her hobbies included playing the guitar, reading, and watching sports. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed the peacefulness of the ocean and walking along the beach.

In addition to her husband Christopher, she is survived by her children, Kiley Medeiros and her husband Jay of Dartmouth, Patrick McGarry and his wife Andrea of Plainville and Douglas McGarry and his wife Diane of Stoughton; her siblings, James Loan of Turner Falls, JoAnne Austin of Attleboro, and Daniel Loan of Casco, ME; six grandchildren, Braden, Nathan, Kaelyn, Christopher, Emilia, and Jackson; also survived by nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral services at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home. For
