EASTON----Katherine A. (McCarron) McAlear, 76, a resident of Easton for the past 20 years, formerly of Brockton, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was the loving wife of James P. McAlear Jr. for 58 years.

Born in Boston, a daughter to the late John and Katherine (Dean) McCarron, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School.

Katherine was employed as a secretary for the VA Healthcare System in Brockton for 25 years.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

In addition to her husband James she is survived by two sons, Christopher McAlear and his wife Yolanda of Easton and James McAlear of Easton; two sisters, Lois Darden of Braintree and Virginia Honiker of Middleboro; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton. Interment will follow in South Easton Cemetery, Easton.
