PLYMOUTH——Karen E. (Chaves) Burns, 60, of Plymouth, formerly of West Bridgewater and Lake Placid, FL., died Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Plymouth Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center after a period of failing health.

Born in Chelsea, a daughter of Rosemary (Brunelle) Shaffer of Lake Wales, FL., and the late Amos Chaves, she was raised in West Bridgewater and was a graduate of Southeastern Regional High School in Easton. She continued her education earning a certificate as a medical assistant and was employed for 20 years in the medical industry.

Karen loved to vacation on cruise ships and visited various places around the world. Her hobbies included camping at Myles Standish Camp Ground in Plymouth, crocheting and reading.

In addition to her mother Rosemary, she is survived by her siblings, David Chaves of Laconia, NH., John Chaves of West Bridgewater, Donna Bisanti of Norton, Lisa Chaves of Las Vegas, NV, Jeffrey Chaves of Quincy and Christine Childs of Salem, NH; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, She was also the sister of the late Lynne Bossardt, Nora Chaves and Michael Chaves.

Relatives and friend are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 9:00 a.m. in St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater. In lieu of flowers donations in Karen's memory may be sent to the National Ataxia Foundation 2600 Fernbrook Ln N, Plymouth, MN 55447. Arrangements are by Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Easton. For directions or condolences visit
