John W. Hinken, age 82, of Raynham formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022, at Longmeadow of Taunton. He was the loving husband of Erika (Schoeler) Hinken.
Born and raised in Highland Park, Michigan he was the son of the late William M. And Margaret J. (Anderson) Hinken.
Upon John's graduation from high school he was accepted into the General Motors school of auto mechanics, but chose to enter the U.S. Army , serving his country and being honorably discharged.
John was formerly employed as a warehouse manager with the Barker Steele Company.
He enjoyed working on automobiles and motorcycles and enjoyed attending classic automobile shows. John also had a passion for boating and kept his boat at Narragansett Bay. His greatest pleasure was time spent with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Erika of 59 years, he is survived by a son, Eric Hinken of Raynham; and three grandchildren, Matthew Hinken, Samantha Hinken and David Hinken. He was also the father of the late John W. Hinken Jr and brother of the late Nancy Johnson, Thomas Hinken and William Hinken.
Funeral services will be held in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington St. (Rte. 138) Easton on Tuesday at Noon. Visiting hours will be held 11:00 a.m. to Noon on Tuesday prior to the service. Interment with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
