Patriotic Emblem

EASTON--- John Moody passed away on December 23, 2020 at the age of 89. He was surrounded and comforted by close family. John was the only child of Carmen and Burdette Moody of Wells, Vermont.

He was the Beloved husband of Dolores for 65 years, the devoted father of Michael and his wife Elizabeth of Clarksville, TN and daughter Linda Boucher and husband Christopher of Easton, MA. He also leaves grandson Andrew Moody and wife Alyson of Camas, WA and granddaughter Melissa Moody of Manchester, NH and great grandchildren Aleigha and Gianni of Manchester, NH.

John was a US Arny Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He was a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY. He was a purchasing manager at The Gillette Company in South Boston, MA when he retired, after being there 27 years. He was a volunteer for Toys for Tots, Symphony Hall and his local Volunteer Income Tax Assistance for the Elderly Program.

He enjoyed watching the Patriots and was a long-time season ticket holder. John was also an avid jogger and cyclist, whose accomplishments included completing the Newport Marathon and participating as a partner in the Pan Mass Challenge. He had a long list of friends and enjoyed many happy memories with all of them. John loved to travel and went on many trips with Dolores and their friends.

John and Dolores resided in Stoughton for 45 years. 'They were active members of Our Lady of The Rosary Church, where they served as Eucharistic Ministers before moving to Easton.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours requiring Mask & Social Distancing on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 4-6 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. A funeral Mass requiring Mask & Social Distancing will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Mary Church, 330 Pratt Street (Rte.106) Mansfield at 10:00 a.m. Private interment with military honors will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Due to floral restrictions at the cemetery donations in John's memory may be sent to St. Mary's Church 330 Pratt Street, Mansfield, MA. 02048.
