EASTON——Idilia (da Rosa) Pereira, 93, a resident of Easton for the past 45 years, died Friday, August 11, 2017 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of Manuel Pereira Sr. for 57 years.

Born in Portugal, a daughter of the late Joaquin Jose and Isabel (Tavares) Pereira, she was raised and educated in Portugal.

Idilia was employed as a mental health assistant for 25 years and worked at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton.

A member of the Ideal Social Club in East Bridgewater, Idilia's hobbies included gardening, cooking, ceramics, crocheting. A talented seamstress she was a collector who enjoyed traveling the US in her retirement.

In addition to her husband Manuel, she is survived by four children, Clarisse Rogers of Austin, TX, Manuel Pereira Jr. of Easton, Luisa Bissett of Oakland, CA., and Joaquin "Jack" Pereira Sr. of Easton. Sister of Carlota da Rosa Azevedo of Taunton; grandmother of Kellie Estes and her husband Matt of TX., Jayme McLeod and her husband Brumby of SC., Aaliyah Pereira of Wrentham, and the late Joaquin "Jacky" Pereira Jr.. Great grandmother of Bracy Estes, Abigail McLeod, Maddie McLeod and Wels McLeod; and 2 nephews and a niece, Robert Azevedo, Denise Beard, and Rodney Azevedo.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Thursday at 9:00 a.m. from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street, (Rte.138) Easton followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton.
