NORTON----Helen L. (Grant) Miller, 80, of Norton, formerly of Easton, passed away Thursday at Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center after a courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the wife of the late Wayne D. Miller.

Born in Brockton, a daughter of the late F. Gordon and Gertrude E. (Mitchell) Grant, she was raised in Hanson and was a graduate of Hanover High School. She continued her education at the Perry Normal School of Boston and Calvin Coolidge College earning a Bachelor's Degree in Education.

She was a homemaker who treasured time spent with her family who also taught preschool at the Paul A. Dever State School in her early years and bagged groceries at Shaw's in her later years. An animal lover, throughout her life she cared for a menagerie of pets, including cats, horses and a pet monkey named Sam.

Helen is survived by a son, Wilford "Bill" Miller of Norton; a daughter, Valerie Miller and her grandchild Fiona Krupkowski of Cambridge; her siblings, Fred Grant of Brockton, Joanne Grant of Easton, Nancy Grant of Easton, Robert Grant of FL, and Walter Grant of TX; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Interment will follow in South Easton Cemetery. Visiting hours on Monday from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Helen's memory may be sent to the American Parkinson Disease Association, 72 East Concord Street, Boston, MA. 02118.
