EASTON——-George "Larry" Churchill, 65, a lifelong resident of Easton, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 6, 2017 at Good Samaritan Medical Center.

Born in Boston, a son of the late George L. and Eleanor R. (Caseley) Churchill, he was raised in Easton and was a graduate of Oliver Ames High School. He continued his education at Mass Bay Community College earning a bachelors degree in engineering and furthered his educational studies at UMass Amherst.

A licensed pilot who began flying at the age of 16, he was a member of the Ames Rifle and Pistol Club.

An avid astronomer and star gazer, Larry enjoyed reading about the civil war and history. He was self taught and fluent in Latin, German, and Russian languages.

A devoted caregiver to his late mother during her illness, he loved mostly above anything else his faithful dog Libby.

Larry is survived by his sister, Geraldine Churchill and numerous cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday from 4-7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton with a funeral service at 6:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
