EASTON - Genevieve M. (Goodis) Childers, age 92, of Easton, passed away on August 4, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the devoted loving wife of 62 years to the late Russell P. Childers.

Genevieve was born in Boston to the late William and Mary (Washkus) Goodis. She was raised in South Boston and was a graduate of Boston Schools.

Genevieve raised her family in Hyde Park where she served as a Den Mother, Cub Scout Leader and Scorekeeper for her boys' Little League games. In 1979 she relocated to Easton. She was formerly employed at John Hancock Life Insurance and a Teacher's Aide in the Elihu Greenwood Elementary School and later as a Cashier for the former Village Convenience Store in Easton, Massachusetts.

She was an avid reader and enjoyed square dancing, gardening, bowling, where she served as treasurer for the Morning Stars Bowling League.

Genevieve was the devoted mother of Russell W. Childers and his wife Jeanette of Norton, Paul Childers and his wife Susan of Franklin, William Childers and his wife Keri of N. Attleboro and Ellen Micciche and her husband Robert of Middleboro; also survived by thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was also the mother of the late Deborah Childers, and sister of the late Eugene P. Goodis and grandmother of the late Heidi L. Childers.

Visiting hours will be Wednesday, August 11, 2021 from 4:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. at that Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138), Easton, MA.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her Funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138), Easton, MA, on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton, at 11:00 A.M. Private Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.

Due to floral restrictions at the Cemetery, donations in Genevieve's memory may be sent to the Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, PO Box 849168, Boston, MA. 02284-9168.
