EASTON——Edward M. Burke, 57, of Easton, died Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Season's Hospice in Milton. He was the husband of Cheryl A. (Rollish) Burke for 26 years.

Born in Brockton, a son of the late Leon V. and M. Patricia (Regan) Burke, he was raised in Easton and was a 1978 graduate of Oliver Ames High School. Edward continued his education at Dean Junior College graduating with an associates degree. Edward transferred to UMass Amherst where he earned a Bachelor's of Science.

He was employed as an environmentalist for 32 years with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts DEP Southeast Region office.

He was a communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 238 of Easton. He enjoyed golfing, biking, and hiking but his true love was spending time with family.

A founding committee member and active volunteer of the Spence T. Brennan Scholarship Fund of Lakeville, he was also an active volunteer with the Lutheran Church of the Way in Raynham assisting with the yearly mission golf tournament to Alaska.

In addition to his wife Cheryl, he is survived by two daughters, Julianna Burke and Emily Burke both of Easton; three brothers, Lee V. Burke of Raynham, James M. Burke and his wife Maura of Braintree, and Joseph F. Burke and his wife Carolyn of Sutton; his mother-in-law, Frances (Brauer) Rollish of CT., and her late husband Albert; an aunt, Dorothy Sullivan of Needham; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late Frederick Burke.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Friday at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, Easton, at 11:00 a.m. Visiting hours on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Edward's memory may be sent to the Spence T.
