EASTON——Earl F. Scott, 85, a longtime resident of Easton, died Monday, October 9, 2017 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of the late Hilda Mae (Allison) Scott and companion of Barbara Doulette of Easton for 34 years.

Born in Nova Scotia, Canada, a son of the late Leonard D. and Lula M. (Jameson) Scott, he was raised and educated in Nova Scotia.

Earl began his working career in the meat cutting industry and was a member of the meat cutters union in Boston. Later, he went into business for himself and was the proprietor of Earl Scott Carpentry of Easton for many years.

His hobbies included gardening and hunting. He enjoyed traveling to Nova Scotia on many occasions to visit family and friends and was devoted to family.

In addition to his longtime companion Barbara, Earl is survived by six children, George Scott of Boston, April Iannacone of Wareham, Deborah Daly of FL., Bruce Scott of Easton, Darlene Ericson of Easton and Ronald Scott of Easton; his siblings, Basil Scott and Charlotte Warner both of Nova Scotia, Canada; many grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Steven Scott and brother of the late Raymond, Irving, Ed, Marvin and Stella.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Saturday from Noon-3:00 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
