Abington- Dennis B. Haynes, age 73, of Abington, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

Dennis was born in Norwood to the late Leon R. Haynes and Hope A. (Caouette) Haynes. Dennis was raised in the Bridgewater's and was a graduate of Bridgewater-Raynham High School. Following his graduation, Dennis proudly served in the US Navy onboard the USS New Jersey during the Vietnam era. Dennis made his career within the retail industry in various sales roles. Most recent, Dennis was an associate at the Walmart in Abington, and he would have celebrated 27 years there in January.

Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading, especially books about military history. He was avid Boston Red Sox fan, rooting for them even during the down years. When Dennis wasn't working, he could be found at the casino. He also enjoyed traveling to Saratoga during the race season. He will be remembered for his unyielding generosity, especially towards his family.

He is survived by his siblings, Linda McGee of Michigan, Alan Haynes and his wife Diane of West Bridgewater, Carl Haynes and his wife Barbara of Easton, Gary Haynes and his wife Debbie of Bridgewater, Gregory Haynes of Mansfield and Kevin Haynes and his wife Sandra of Bridgewater. He is also survived by many generations of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Leon and Hope and his sister, Bonnie Barber. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

All are cordially invited to the graveside services on Thursday, January 13 at 1:15 p.m. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. A celebration of life will follow at Barrett's Alehouse/West Bridgewater from 3 p.m.-7 p.m.
