Patriotic Emblem

REVERE----David Guy LaFrance, 69, of Revere, formerly of Taunton, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at the VA Boston Healthcare System in Brockton after a period of failing health. He was loving companion of Mary E. Dick of Revere.

Born in Beaufort, South Carolina, a son of the late Norman and Fernande (Tardif) LaFrance, he was raised and educated in New Bedford. A veteran of the Vietnam War he served as a PFC in the US Army and was honorably discharged.

A resident of Taunton for 22 years, David was employed as a custodian for the City of Taunton. He enjoyed volunteering at the VA Hospital and studying the Bible.

In addition to his companion Mary, he is survived by a sister, Louise LaFrance of Fairhaven; a brother, Raymond LaFrance of Acushnet; his granddaughter, Shania LaFrance; his former wife, Sandra (Gadapee) Knickerbocker of New Bedford; 11 nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late David LaFrance and Dana LaFrance and brother of the late Vincent LaFrance.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, followed by a funeral service at 12:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne at 2:30 p.m.
