BARNSTABLE----David B. Ward, Sr., 80, a resident of Barnstable for the past 18 years, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at Cape Cod Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Marsha E. (Olive) Ward.

Born in Boston, a son of the late Perley and Marguerite (Stewart) Ward, he was raised in Randolph and Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School.

A veteran of the US Navy, he served during peacetime and was honorably discharged. He then entered Boston Trade School where he earned a certificate degree as a Pipe Coverer.

David was employed by Local Union 6 Pipe Coverer's of Boston. A resident of Brockton for 40 years, he moved to Barnstable in 2002.

David enjoyed riding motorcycles, was an avid woodworker, and had a natural ability to repair almost anything.

In addition to his wife Marsha, he is survived by two sons and their spouses, David and Laura Ward Jr. of Middleboro, and Michael and Jennifer Ward of Grafton; his siblings, William Ward of Brockton, Shirley Adams of FL., Isobel Boynton of Taunton, and Lynda Nakamoto of LA.; five grandchildren, Rebecca Ward of Boston, Erin and Parker Ward of Middleboro, and Ryan and Alexia Ward of Grafton; also survived by nieces and nephews. David was also the father of the late Brenda J. Ward.

Due to Covid-19 State of Emergency in MA, private family services will be held with funeral honors at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. A Celebration of his life will be held at a later date with a time to be announced.
