EASTON———Carol Anne Hester-Shipkin, 61, a resident of Easton for the past 26 years, died Friday, March 9, 2018 at home under the care of her family. She was the wife of Michael Shipkin for 30 years.

Born in Milton, a daughter of John and Marie (Courtney) Hester of Randolph, she was raised in Randolph and was a graduate of St. Clare High School in Roslindale. Carol continued her education at Bridgewater State College earning a Bachelors in Education.

Carol was employed by the Town of Norton for 32 years and was a 1st grade teacher at the J.C. Solmonese Elementary School. She also worked part-time for the City of Quincy Police Department.

Carol was a communicant of the Holy Cross Church in Easton, a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She sustained self-fulfillment in helping others and was an active volunteer at my Brother's Keeper in Easton and School on Wheels for Homeless Children.

An avid reader she enjoyed traveling and vacationing with her family, walking and exercising.

In addition to her husband Michael and her parents John and Marie, she is survived by two children; Kara Shipkin of Easton and Timothy Shipkin of New Orleans, LA; and a sister, Diane Hester of Bedford.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton, on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass in the Holy Cross Church, 225 Purchase Street, Easton, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m and Wednesday morning 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. prior to funeral mass.
