BROCKTON—-Beverly D. (Ralph) Raney, 83, a resident of Brockton for the past 52 years, died Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Life Care Center in West Bridgewater after a period of failing health. She was devoted the wife of Edward W. Raney.

Born in Swampscott, the daughter of the late William and Lillian (Murphy) Ralph, she was raised in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn English High School Class of 1952. She continued her education at Sioux Falls College in South Dakota studying Theology.

She began her working career with General Electric Company in Lynn as an administrative assistant until 1962. After raising her family she went back into the workforce and was employed by the Brockton School system as library aide.

She later took a position with the Geological Survey in Boston and then transferred to the Boston Planning Group-Department of the Navy where she later retired.

A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed crocheting, reading, craft and traveling.

In addition to her husband Edward she is survived by a three children, Kathleen Raney of Brockton, Ralph Raney and his wife Sande of Winthrop and Lynne Anne Raney of Brockton; and one grandchild, Christopher Raney of Winthrop. She was the sister of the late Roger Ralph and Robert Ralph.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. Donations in Beverly's memory may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
