TAUNTON----Barbara Lee (Press) ( Shuman) Kaplan, 82, of Taunton, formerly of Sharon, passed away on March 1, 2021 at Morton Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Stanley Shuman and Richard Kaplan.

Born in Somerville, a daughter of the late Maurice and Isabelle (Brenner) Press, she was raised in Dorchester and was a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School.

Barbara was employed as a medical receptionist at Spaulding Rehabilitation in Boston. She was devoted to her children.

An avid Red Sox fan, Barbara was an avid scrabble player and reader of Sherlock Holmes novels.
She was also a longtime member of Sweet Adeline's Chorus.

Barbara is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Shuman) Hubbard and her husband Richard of Raynham and Carolyn R. (Shuman) Dalton and her husband Joseph of Taunton and was also the mother of the late Pamela Shuman and sister of the late Myron Press and Lawrence Press. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren, Anna, Jonathan, Anthony, Joshua, Candace, Nathan and James and great grandmother of Charlie, Rowan and Brooks.

A private graveside service will be held at Sharon Memorial Park, Sharon. Donations in Barbara's memory may be sent to Epilepsy Foundation New England Donation Center, 1 Dunham Rd # 200, Billerica, MA. 01821.
