EASTON----Barbara J (Bruce) Barra, 78, resident of North Easton, died at her home on Thursday, July 20, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Gerald R. Barra.

Born in Stoughton, a daughter of the late Eugene and Jennie (Heath) Bruce. she was raised in Stoughton and was a 1958 graduate of Stoughton High School.

Barbara was formerly employed by Fashion Barn in Stoughton for 10 years. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout volunteer as well as volunteering her time with My Brother's Keeper of Easton. She was a faithful member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of North Easton.

In addition to her husband Gerald of 59 years, she is survived by her children, Cindy Lou Reisser of Easton, James R. Barra and his wife Toni of Onset, Elizabeth Golden of Mansfield and Nicole Johnston of Providence, RI; sister of Shirley Dean of Framingham, Thelma Hanson of Louisiana, Eugene Bruce and his wife Janiece of Stoughton, Vivian Sawyer and her husband Clifton of Pocasset and David Bruce and his wife Kathy of Marston Mills; a sister-in-law, Lorrie Young of Brockton. Also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 143 Lincoln St North Easton on Tuesday, July 25th at 1 pm. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to her service at the church from 12 to 1 pm. Interment to be held at South Easton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Barbara's memory may be made to My Brother's Keeper, PO Box 338, Easton, MA. 02356 or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 143 Lincoln St N. Easton, MA 02356.
