West Bridgewater---Barbara (Rowell) Christman, 86, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Easton, passed away on January 2, 2021 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late John H.. "Jack" Christman III.

Born in Whitman, a daughter of the late Walter G.E. and Doris (Meserve) Rowell, she was raised in Whitman and Brockton and was a graduate of Brockton High School.

Barbara began working by selling Dutch made clothing in Pennsylvania. A resident of West Bridgewater for 36 years, she was employed as a cashier at Shaw's Supermarket in West Bridgewater. A longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star and she was an active member of the Evangelical Congregational Church of Easton. Her hobbies included knitting, sewing and making quilts.

Barbara is survived by four daughters, Diane Lindquist and her husband Jeffrey of Plymouth, Joanne Hopgood and her husband Jim of Easton, Lorraine "Rainey" Grover and her husband Chuck of Ontario, CA., and Jean Richard and her husband Joe of Taunton; her sisters, Virginia Webber of Getzville, NY and Dorothy MacNeil of TN; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours with capacity restrictions, mask and social distancing on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Due to Covid-19 restrictions a private funeral and interment at Furnace Village Cemetery will be held for the family. For directions or condolences visit
