NORTH EASTON – Aldona M. (Kemzura) Schmidt, age 81, loving wife of Hans R. Schmidt, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2021, at Care One at Randolph.

She was a daughter of the late Steven and Antanina (Gerulaitis) Kemzura. Aldona was born in Seredzius, Lithuania and later fled with her family at the end of World War II to Germany, where they lived as refugees until 1949. The family then emigrated to Massachusetts and lived in Brockton. Aldona settled in Easton in 1969 where she and her husband raised their family.

A homemaker, Aldona enjoyed baking, gardening, sewing, crafts and arts. She had a love for animals, but mostly she cherished the time that was spent with her family.

In addition to her husband Hans of sixty years, she is survived by her two sons, Paul A. Schmidt and his wife Christine M. of Bristol, RI and Erik H. Schmidt of North Easton. She was the sister of the late Anthony F. Kemzura.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours requiring mask & social distancing on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. The funeral will be held on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with mask, social distancing and capacity restrictions in the funeral home. Interment will follow in South Easton Cemetery, Washington Street, Easton.
