EASTON---Alden B. Sarty of South Easton, Massachusetts, passed away on October 23, 2016 peacefully after a brave battle with renal cell carcinoma.

Born in Brockton in 1947, he was a lifelong resident of Easton, a son to the late Stephen and Sadie (Demont) Sarty. He graduated from Oliver Ames High School in 1965. He worked as a truck driver for T. L. Edwards for over 40 years.

Alden enjoyed driving his 18-wheeler, spending time at the Easton Rod and Gun Club, his furry friend Rusty, and being with his family and friends. He was also an avid reader.

Alden is survived by his loving fiancé Catherine A. Baker of South Easton, with whom he shared 19 happy years together.

He is lovingly remembered as "Dad" to Catherine's children, Thomas and Kristin Baker of West Bridgewater, Drew and Heather Baker of North Easton, and Julie and Julie Baker of Mansfield, MA. He was a proud and loving Grampie to Dean, Grace, Grant, and Michael Baker.

Alden is also survived by his brother, Weston Sarty and his wife Betty of Bridgewater, MA and his nieces and nephews, Gail and Jim McKinnon, Eddie and Lisa Sarty, Linda and Craig Clapp, Peggy Sarty and John Levy, and Patty Driscoll.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Everett Sarty, Walter Sarty, and his nephew, David Sarty.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte.138) Easton. Interment will follow in Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton. Visiting hours on Wednesday 4-8 p.m.
