Canton - Edward "Buddy" Atkins, 66, of Canton formerly of Stoughton and Dorchester, passed away at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston on November 3, 2021.

Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Herbert C. And Ellen C. (Lane) Atkins. Buddy was raised in Dorchester and graduated from Boston Technical High School and continued his education studying HVAC.

Buddy was employed as an HVAC Technician for the New England Sinai Hospital for 40 years.

A lifelong avid Boston Bruins Fan, he enjoyed attending both Boston Bruins and Providence Bruins games during his retirement. He also enjoyed watching the Three Stooges.

His dog, Albert ("Bert"), was his best friend and he loved going on long walks with his best friend, especially at Houghton's Pond in the Blue Hills. Other hobbies include going to the casino, visiting his childhood best friends of 50+ years, visiting Cape Cod Canal, Castle Island, hiking/fishing up north in New Hampshire. He was very much a family man, and was always happiest when he was with his family and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Ashley Pelton and her husband Michael of Brockton; two siblings, Patricia Curley of Quincy and William Atkins of Brockton; and a grandson Dylan Pelton of Brockton. He was also the brother of the late Thomas Atkins.

Funeral services will be held at the Kane Funeral Home and Cremation Services 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138) Easton on Wednesday, November 10th at 10:00 am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery Brockton. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, November 9th from 4 - 7pm. And are encouraged to wear Boston Bruins Colors.
