Tribute & Message From The Family

North Easton---Bennie Alice (Warrick) Moore, aged 100, was born on October 2,1920 in Dallas, Texas. She was the daughter of Charles Lee and Thelma (Young) Warrick and the devoted wife of Douglas L. Moore for 41 years, prior to his death in 1984. She graduated from North Dallas High School and met Doug at a USO dance during WWII and married three months later. After the war they eventually moved to Massachusetts, where they raised their family among many of her husband's kin in the Brockton area.

She is survived by her four children: D. Wayne Moore (Joanne); Virginia Murray (John); Robert Moore (Kathy); and Betty Oyster (Don). She was predeceased by her sister, Virginia Lynch, and three grandchildren, John (Jay) and Doug Moore and Glenn Miller. She also leaves behind Cherie Moore and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-laws, and nieces and nephews, locally and in Texas.

Bennie was a strong, kind, wise and faithful woman who was devoted to her family, her church, and her summers in Boothbay Harbor, Maine, where she managed the gift shop at the family's Cabbage Island Clambakes and welcomed guests to the island. Everyone who met her loved and respected her. She instilled self-reliance, courage, integrity and a strong work ethic in her family. She passed away on Patriot' s Day, a fitting tribute to one from the "greatest generation."
