Robert E. Turner "Bobby", of Elgin, Oklahoma unexpectedly passed away on January 18, 2021. Robert was born in 1947 in Boston, MA and was raised in Dorchester, MA. He also resided in Springfield, Brockton, Clearwater, FL, and Middleboro, MA. Robert entered the US Army in 1967 where he served in Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany. Robert was assigned to USASTC / CO.E 6TH BN. 2ND TNG.BDE. Robert's rank was SP5 completing 3 years of service as a heavy equipment operator. Robert was a graduate of Springfield College, MA. Robert was appointed by the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles Police in Boston, MA. Robert entered the RMV academy and was assigned to ZONE 1 Boston/Springfield, MA in 1971. Robert was a RMV Inspector of the Weights and Dimensions Truck Team between 1973-1990. Robert rose to the rank of Investigator in 1984 with the RMV Police. Robert transferred over to the Massachusetts Department of State Police HQ Framingham/Boston, MA. Robert was assigned to Traffic Operations and to the Auto Theft/ Salvage Title Section between 1990-1999. Robert retired with the rank of Trooper in 1999, after 31 years of service. Robert was married for 50 years to the late loving Patricia Ann (Cicciu) Turner, and is survived by son, Nicholas J. Turner, of Taunton, MA and daughter Rosemarie Turner-Allen of OK. Robert is a grandfather to 8 grandchildren, Deanna M. Turner, Christina N. Turner, Gabrielle P. Turner, Elizabeth Coots, Lynne R. Turner, Jessica Coots, Angelina M. Turner, and Ava Coots. He is also a great grandfather to Adriaynna and DezMariah. Bobby is also survived by his mother, Alice Turner of Weymouth, one brother, Thomas Turner of Taunton, four sisters, Diane Ebrecht, Tricia DiBella, Susan Perry, and Linda Turner. Bobby enjoyed watching the Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. Bobby's favorite song was from Bobby Darin, Mack the Knife. Bobby also enjoyed shooting pool, playing cards, and fishing with his late brother in law, Angelo A. Cicciu. Bobby will be sadly missed by his loving family and friends.
